Abstract

The article seeks to explain the particularities of the Piñera government's political narrative. The piece explores the factors which explain the criticism the government has received from important members of the governing coalition. To do so, it examines the relationship between the president and the conceptual frameworks which lie behind the government's performance. It argues that one of the government's main challenges is the disconnect between the political narrative and the specific characteristics of the president's leadership style.
