Abstract

This paper analyses the effects of the introduction of the “Estatuto PYME” as
a novel initiative aimed at increasing the efficiency of public policies in small
or medium-sized enterprises (PYME) during 2010-2011. A review of the data
shows a weak regulatory framework for PYMEs, due in large part to minimal
effective support from ministries, with the exception of the Ministry of the
Economy.
