Chile: 1990-2007. Una sociedad neoliberal avanzada

Abstract

This article analyses the Chilean society from 1990 to present, describing it as an advanced neoliberal society. The constitution of this type of society has been due to the political action of the capitalist re-structuration made by the military dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet as well as to the policies applied by the democratic governments (1990-2007), which have deepened, widened and consolidated neoliberalism in Chile. One of the main consequences of this historical and political action of more than 30 years has been the constitution of a new citizenship.
