Abstract

This article states that the theory of Aristotelian phrónesis bears a direct relation to a principle of concrete Greek reality, i.e. political reality understood as action, meaning an ability to "lead", to direct towards the good, and consequently to happiness, in the last place. The articulation of a practical philosophy and the historical analysis is given by the empirical research undertaken by Aristotle, which appears in his Politics and his Athenaion Politeia, which in turn has a direct link to the theory of phrónesis as it is found in the Nichomachean Ethics.

Keywords:
